Citizens Action on Ondoy

Rc Mac started the facebook group Citizens Action on Ondoy  to encourage a dialogue that will draw out concrete next steps for government based on the collective experience of Filipinos during Typhoon Ondoy:

Let not our stories go to waste. Let's post them here and consolidate it towards creating a CITIZENS' REPORT. Share your insights and recommendations for the government and the private sector.

Join this group now. Let's share with a clear purpose, a specific output.

What are the objectives of this report?

1. Consolidate STORIES and INSIGHTS of the people during and after the recent disaster.

2. Assess the GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSE to the calamity based on the PEOPLE'S EXPERIENCES.

3. Provide objective RECOMMENDATIONS to the government and various sectors to increase our competency on disaster preparedness.

4. MONITOR the response to and actual IMPLEMENTATION of the recommendations presented by the people.

Let's talk hope.

We've already started talking to each other again as one people. We're looking each other in the eye, regardless of family background, school, occupation, religion, socio-economic class.
